Rachel McDermott, MA, LMFT has worked in the mental health field for over 25 years. She discovered her passion at a young age, starting her career working in a group home when she was just 18 years old.
Prior to opening her private practice, she gained 15 years of experience in positions; Hospital Social Worker for Kaweah Delta, Mediator for Tulare County Family Court Services, Social Worker for Child Welfare Services, Substance Abuse Counselor for the ARC (a 28-day residential substance abuse program), and Lead Counselor for Kings County Drug Diversion program.

Rachel has always had love of learning. One of her favorite roles was Faculty Advisor for University of Phoenix where she taught in-person classes for the Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy program for 8 years. Her thirst for knowledge continues; she is an avid reader of nonfiction and attends conferences. regularly, working towards becoming a certified Constructed Awareness therapist (www.ConstructedAwarenes.com)

Rachel immigrated from the UK at five years old and was raised primarily in Danville, a small town in the Bay Area. She landed in the central valley after attending Fresno State. Currently she lives in a close knit farming community between Visalia and Ivanhoe. She loves the outdoors and has been riding horses since she could walk. She loves snow sports, motorcycles, and every animal on Gods green planet.
