Susan Pomeranz, PhD, LMFT

Dr. Susan Pomeranz, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, has helped people for over 30 years to create joyful, sane, loving relationships through her insight, sense of humor and compassion. Dr. Susan is known for her lively radio show appearances, her humorous newspaper columns, speaking engagements, seminars and life changing workshops.  In addition, she is the author of the hysterically funny book, Open Your Heart and Say “AHHH” (Pomeranz, 2008).

She primarily works with adults and specializes in eating disorders, anxiety disorders, life transitions, aging/loss/spiritual issues, couples therapy, mindfulness/stress reduction, creative blocks and loves working with those who care for others. Her life is dedicated to helping people create joyful and loving lives - this is her deep purpose and passion.

She believes in the human spirit and in everyone’s natural ability to heal themselves. This is done through the process of releasing negative behaviors and thoughts as well as letting go of past unresolved pain, so one can begin living the life they are truly meant to live.

By addressing these issues there comes a sense of enhanced expression, greater creativity, purpose and a new found freedom.

Dr. Pomeranz believes there are no cookie-cutter therapies that can be applied overall to human beings and that each one of us has our own obstacles to be resolved, as well as our own dreams, meaning and purpose to be sought, realized and ultimately lived. She draws from a vast array of skills having been trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Neurobiology of Addiction, Gestalt Therapy, Art and Movement Therapy, Psychoneuroimmunology (the mind-body connection), Mindfulness as well as certifications in Yoga, Tai-Chi and Qigong.
