Tracy L. Slack, AMFT, is a marriage and family therapist associate providing psychotherapeutic care at McDermott Counseling since January 2015. She has a wealth of experience in counseling individuals, couples, and families, specializing in helping those suffering from anxiety, depression, and trauma in all forms. She is also a certified Batterer’s Intervention Group facilitator for child, teen, and adult psycho-education and processing groups.
Tracy attended graduate school at The George Washington University and ultimately earned a Masters of Science in Counseling – Marriage and Family Therapy from University of Phoenix. Tracy completed Level 1 Training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy and continues to use this in her work.
Tracy also gained invaluable life experience as the Commanding Officer of Enlisted Personnel for the United States Coast Guard Atlantic Area. She retired as a Lieutenant Commander after 20 years.
Now, after 27 years of marriage and two children, Tracy combines her formal education, training, and rich life experience to provide quality and compassionate therapeutic care to all her clients.
